OUR STORY

The Flying Goat was created in 2010 to become a neighborhood craft beer bar and casual eatery, where the craft beer list is as carefully chosen as the menu items themselves. As we studied the time-honored history of classic pizza making, we were inspired by the legacy, flavors, and aromas of the Neapolitan Style. Our goal was to honor the craft of artisan pizza making, while creatively infusing local flavors and ingredients.

OUR SPACE

Our goal when designing and building this neighborhood pizza pub was to utilize sustainable and repurposed materials to the best of our abilities. During our search, we discovered the remarkable opportunity to repurpose the Otis Leonard’s Ritzville grain elevator, originally constructed in 1910. You can see a photo of this wood grain elevator hanging on the wall in the bar. Meticulously disassembled, the elevator’s wood is now being used throughout the inside and outside of The Goat.

OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

The Audubon neighborhood is a very special place to live, play, and eat in Spokane. Much like our neighbors, our team at The Goat feels a strong passion towards our community and is dedicated to improving the lifestyle we all share. Because of this passion, we were honored to partner with several local artists and companies to decorate the interior and exterior of the pub. The neighborhood photographs on the wall and custom pub signs are just a couple examples of this collaboration. In loving memory of our beautiful Kerri Lynn, who passed away from cancer in 2010, we donate a portion of sales from our Margherita pizza to local charities to help those in need.

OUR PIZZA

Our fire-kissed crust honors the history of artisan pizza making. The char is a must! This char adds great flavor, a unique texture, and carries hidden aromas. It is considered one of the most important flavor elements of Neapolitan Style pizza. Our dough is freshly made, in-house, every morning to ensure the best quality and consistency. Every pizza that is ordered is first hand stretched and then topped with homemade sauces, a variety of cheese options, fresh local ingredients, and artisan meats… some even cured in-house! Our sauces, dressings, and marinades are all made daily. Our pies are baked in a 2500-pound Woodstone oven, made in Bellingham, Washington.

OUR BEER BAR

While we are not a brewery ourselves, we have the incredible opportunity and privilege of serving the best craft beers and ciders that the Northwest (and beyond!) has to offer. We feature all styles of beer, from IPAs to sours to barrel aged stouts, and love to be the place where you can try something new! With 15 rotating craft handles, an extensive can and bottle selection, and a cellar beer list, we have something for everyone. Follow us on Untappd to keep up with our ever-changing tap list. Wine drinkers? We haven’t forgotten about you! Our house wine, the Goat Head Red, is produced by the local Townshend Winery. Our wine list is eclectic, with many great red and white selections.

OUR NAME

The Flying Goat name honors a great friendship and happens to resemble the type of pub names one would expect to find on the streets of England, Ireland, or Scotland. Our goal was to create a neighborhood craft beer bar and casual eatery where all feel welcome. We are excited to see you at “The Goat!”
